COVID-19 Information and Guidelines

Until further notice the Social Club is closed due to COVID-19 restrictions in a Tier 2 area.

revised 02/10/2020

Current members are welcome back to the Stanford Social Club.  Following UK Government guidelines, we provide a safe environment for our volunteer bar staff and members and member’s guests.  With limited opening on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and limited numbers of people in the Club opening will be staged to allow everyone to get used to the necessary changes. The Club will not be open after 10pm.

Those members who were members last year have had their membership extended, without charge, until March 2021.

If you have visited pubs recently you will recognise all the measures.  There is a list of don’ts but do enjoy yourselves, back in the familiar club house with cheap drinks and a friendly atmosphere.  We ask members to play their part in this to make sure all goes well.

On entering you will be asked to use the hand sanitiser at the high level table.  Please fill out your name and phone number on a slip of paper provided to enable track and trace, if you have the NHS COVID-19 app please scan the QR code.  The slips can be posted into the box and will be held for 21 days and then destroyed.

By using the app to scan the QR code or completing the slip you are confirming to the best of your knowledge that you are not suffering from COVID-19 and that you are not presenting the symptoms of the disease, a high temperature, a new continuous cough, a change to your sense of smell or taste.

You must wear a face covering when not seated. A one way system is marked from the front door to the fire exit to ensure social distancing.  When seated please keep this path clear.

Drinking whilst standing is not allowed indoors.  You will need to be seated at a table with no more than 6 people to a table and you will not be able to change from one table to another during your stay.

Drinks must be ordered from, and served at, a table. Bar staff will bring drinks to the tables asking the customers to take the glasses off the tray.  A card machine has been introduced to limit the handling of cash.

Tables and chairs are in fixed positions and are not to be moved or changed.

Seating is available outside within the overall limit of 26 people for the whole Club House.  Drinking outdoors to be at least socially distanced seated at a bench or standing.

Ladies and gent’s toilets will both be available.  Only one person is to be in the ladies or gent’s toilets at a time. Please use the hand sanitisers there on entry and exit and clean surfaces that you have touched.

Tables will be cleaned down and sanitised by the bar staff before and after use. A notice will be placed on cleaned tables.  All other key surfaces and touch points will be cleaned regularly by the bar staff.  Members are asked to return glasses to the designated area at the bar or allow the bar staff to clear the table.

To start with playing darts, pool, and cards will not be available, and the music changer will be playing on random.  There will be no live entertainment.  The contract with Sky Sports has been suspended until further notice.

You will appreciate that the volunteer bar staff have a big role to play in keeping you safe as well as providing drinks and snacks so please be patient and respect them for their commitment.

Broadband has been improved and is available as BT_Guest_Wi-Fi.  The committee has used the lockdown time to replace the cellar chiller and replace some flooring.  Volunteers have given their time and have thoroughly cleaned the premises to make it safe for everyone.

So, all that is left is to welcome you back and for you to please enjoy yourselves and above all stay safe.
